2. Keynote - Carol Edelkoort

A joint presentation on how FAB evolved and the work they do to support at-risk girls and young women by motivating and engaging them to be active for life. Carol is a passionate advocate for physical literacy and the lifelong benefits of movement.

Introduced to a variety of sports by her father at a young age, she developed strong

foundational physical skills and the confidence to try new activities throughout her life—from

childhood gymnastics to long-distance running and triathlons in adulthood and many sports in between. She feels incredibly grateful to have had these opportunities while growing up,

knowing that many others do not.

Having lived with mental health challenges from an early age, Carol credits sport as a key

influence in developing the resilience, confidence, and perseverance that have supported her personal and professional journey. She built a successful career in marketing and business management within the banking industry, but over time recognized a lack of personal fulfillment in her work. That realization led her to the FAB Foundation, where she could align her professional skills with her passion for helping others. That lived experience drives her commitment to creating inclusive spaces where all young girls can move, grow, and thrive. In the fall of 2023, she stepped into the role of Executive Director, where she now leads with purpose and passion.
